What is an Activator?
The Activator is a small, hand-held instrument that delivers a gentle, adjustive thrust without the practitioner applying physical force with their body. It can be set at varying levels of intensity and can be used to adjust big and small joints with accuracy and precision.  Download the Activator FAQ sheet for more details HERE.

The Activator Technique involves utilizing a handheld device to perform adjustments to spinal vertebrae and other body joints and muscles.  It is an alternative to traditional adjustments, as it eliminates twisting- or cracking-type maneuvers and provides a comfortable yet effective correction.  This technique is an ideal method that can be used on anyone, especially the young or the elderly.

The Activator Technique aims to reduce inflammation that causes pain and restricted mobility.  Chiropractors can identify areas of restriction and treat soft tissue lesions with the depth, pressure and specificity necessary to affect the condition at the site of the pain, as well as following the kinetic chain to find and treat the cause.  Other conditions treated include the following:

  • Chronic Pain
  • Rotator Cuff Injuries
  • Knee Injuries
  • ITB Syndrome
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
  • Elbow Tendonitis
  • Strains/Sprains
  • Neck/Back Pain
  • Plantar Fasciitis

Benefits of the Activator Technique include the following:

  • Pain Relief
  • Increased Flexibility
  • Increased Strength
  • Enhanced Recovery
